The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has sent a letter of protest to Al Jazeera over a report titled "All the Prime Minister's Men". The protest letter titled 'Al-Jazeera's false report on the Bangladesh Army' was sent to the media by e-mail at 12:47 pm on Monday. Recently, the report titled 'All the Prime Minister's Men' published in the international media called Al-Jazeera has come to the notice of the army. The report, which was presented in the form of a documentary, provided numerous misinformation by Al-Jazeera about the Bangladesh government and the Bangladesh Army. It is clear from the report that the report has been deliberately combined with other untrue, fabricated, fabricated, speculative and unsubstantiated information in order to make the Bangladesh government and the army chief as a whole controversial, unacceptable and degrading to the people of Bangladesh and the world. The information provided by Al-Jazeera that the signal device was made by Israel is not true at all and the device does not have Israel's name written anywhere on it. It is also to be noted that the procurement of equipment in the army is done under a specific policy and following a number of stages. Firstly, the documentary that has been distributed has revealed some false information about the purchase of spyware by the Bangladesh Army from Israel and the direct and indirect involvement of the Chief of Army Staff in various procurement processes of the Bangladesh Army. It may be mentioned that Bangladesh Army has been successfully participating in UN peacekeeping missions since 1986. Bangladesh has already achieved the distinction of being the highest sending peacekeeper to the United Nations out of 120 countries at different times and now (from 31 August 2020 to date). So far, 124 members of the Bangladesh Army have committed suicide and 222 others have been injured in the line of duty. The Bangladesh Army is always ready to send various types of peacekeepers as per the requirements of the United Nations in a very short period of time in the light of the reputation, expertise, capability and experience gained through the UN peacekeeping operations. Currently, under the United Nations Peacekeeping Capability Capacity Readiness System (UNPCRS), 18 contingents of the Bangladesh Army are ready to replace old units in phases and in some cases are ready for new deployment, which is the highest among the countries sending peacekeepers. Such as ‘a signal intelligence unit instead of a signal unit’ to be able to deploy in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO). In addition, a list of required manpower and equipment for the said unit (Statement of Unit Requirement) is sent by the United Nations. According to the list, the Bangladesh Army was informed by the Bangladesh Army on 5 January 2017 that the Signal Intelligence Unit could be sent by Bangladesh after September 2016, as the Bangladesh Army did not have some equipment in stock at the time and needed to import them from abroad. . Following this, Bangladesh started the process of purchasing a passive signal interceptor from Hungary in December 2016 following the proper government procurement process, which was completed in June 2016. Although the equipment was procured in accordance with UN requirements, the UN later deployed a signal intelligence unit in Tanzania to the Democratic Republic of Congo. It ought to be noticed that the data given by Al-Jazeera that the sign gadget was made by Israel isn't correct at all and the name of Israel isn't referenced anyplace in the gadget. It is also to be noted that the procurement of equipment in the army is done under a specific policy and following a number of stages. There is no chance of corruption here.
